Our very own senior Care Support Worker Sara Wells who has been working for us for over 10 years won the “Excellence in Dementia Care Award” at the Wales Care Awards in 2017.

Here is Sara pictured furthest right below with her award and certificate.

The Wales Care Awards is an annual event organised by the Care Forum Wales. This event is in its 15th year and is held at Cardiff City Hall. This awards ceremony showcases the very best practice in the care sector and it is a prestigious event.

ProCare Nursing’s Sara Wells won the top gold award, this shows that we have competent health and social care workers who take great care in looking after vulnerable people from the elderly, to people with mental health conditions and learning difficulties.

At ProCare Nursing we have the best training facilities in Cardiff. We do all of our training in-house this helps us avoid long waiting times to train carers from outsourced companies, this ensure’s that not only are new carers fully trained on best practices of care but also our existing carers always have access to new and most current practices of care.

Another reason it is important to have training carried out in-house and not outsourced is so we can quality control care training. Training staff thoroughly is imperative to ensure our clients are well looked after in every aspect of the care they need from administering medication to other forms of personal care.

It is important for us to mention that not only are we an agency that provide quality care to our clients but we provide our services at competitive rates, we are here to solve all of your care needs from price, the number of hours of care needed and ensuring the best carers carry out that care who are focused on doing the job.

ProCare Nursing have been established in the care sector for over 20 years, we invest in the best nurses and carers to ensure quality personal care for our clients. The award that Sara Wells achieved at the Wales Care Awards is evidence that we are an award winning agency, we go above and beyond training our workers ensuring quality care services are carried out for our clients across Cardiff and the South Wales area.

Get in touch with us as we have over 100 fully trained carers ready to help you with your care requirements.

Did you know that the care sector in Wales will need 20,000 more carers by 2030

A recent BBC article highlighted the need for another 20,000 carers in Wales by 2030. In 2016 there were just over 160,000 people over the age of 80 but this is forecast to grow to over 260,000 people by 2034 an increase of 100,000 people. The graph below shows predicted increases to 2034.

The fact of the matter is people are living longer which will increase the demand for many more care workers. The BBC article highlighted the increase in age population but also raises awareness about negative stigma surrounding a carers job role in Wales and Cardiff.

What is the Stigma?

The stigma and perception of a carers role is that the job description demands long hours and carers are paid low rates of pay. Sue Evans who is the chief executive of Social Care Wales went on to say:

“Terms and conditions are obviously a factor such as pay and work hours, however, our research has helped us learn that people working in the care sector find it a really rewarding career, they stay because of the values that the job entails such as, one, having compassion for people they care for and, two, the way it betters peoples lives.”

Bettering the perception of a carers job role will help go towards increasing the number of carers in Wales by 2030. Carers will be needed in a wide variety of areas such as occupational therapy and domiciliary care here in Cardiff.

ProCare Nursing has over 20 years experience working in the Care Sector

If you’re looking for a company that offers first class domiciliary care then you have come to the right place. Here at ProCare Nursing we have over 20 years of experience working in the care sector. We care for a variety of clients such as:

– The elderly
– People with mental health conditions
– Adults and children with learning disabilities

We can provide domiciliary care services either on a private basis for example private families, or can service big organisations in the public and private sectors. We already work with local authority councils in Cardiff and are trusted in providing well trained carers to places all over the city.

We regularly recruit new carers and fully train them with our in-house training facilities. Because we have our own in-house training facilities this means we can train people quickly rather than outsourcing trainers from other companies, this also keeps the cost of training down and we pass on the price advantages to our customers.

We carry out thorough mandatory health and social care training inducting all new care workers, care support workers also have the option to go on and complete QCF qualifications in health and social care from level 2, 3 and 5, this enables carers to continually improve the care they provide delivering care to a high standard.

At ProCare Nursing we offer packages tailored to your requirements. We understand that in care there can be a number of complex requirements needed to deliver first class care to people who need it, if you need 1 to 2 hours care per week we can provide that, or, if you need a care package that requires carers to be at a clients house around the clock we can also provide for that requirement.

There is no need too big or too small for us. We are here to give you the solutions needed to ensure people are well looked after in our care and go above and beyond in improving peoples lives.

As we mentioned earlier we have worked in both private and public sectors, we provide carers for NHS wards to the private home of a family member, our carers are fully equipped to carry out quality care in any given environment.

We can also provide nurses to homes, residential addresses, NHS hospitals and private hospitals. We provide nurses as we understand that our clients may have complex requirements where injections may need to be administered among other more complex tasks that only a qualified nurse can carry out. We mention this as it shows our commitment in providing for all of our clients needs from basic personal care to care that requires a little more expertise.

If you would like to discuss your requirements get in touch or visit our offices, we are happy to put together a care plan to suit your every need from medication administering to general domiciliary care.
