We carry out observations and random spot checks on our care support workers
In order to ensure we maintain high standards of care we carry out random observations and spot checks. This means we send our training officers to locations where care appointments are due to take place. We then observe the performance of our carers and personally review the care they are delivering to the service user.
These observations and spot checks help us see if carers require new training, but above all that carers are carrying out the care to service users adequately and to the highest possible standard. The service user is at the heart of everything we do here at ProCare Nursing, we must ensure that all service users receive care that only helps dignify and improve their way of life, whether that be an elderly person or somebody with a Mental Health condition, we must deliver the highest standard of care to help vulnerable adults live healthy and dignified lives.
What do we check?
We check a number of diverse things based on the service user care needs. It maybe that a service user’s care requirement is that they need help with taking medication in the mornings, we observe how a carer helps the service user take their medication and how they record that, making sure our carers perform this task exactly how it should be carried out.
If service users are not following correct procedure, we will review this and book the carer in for new training. This ensures that the care support worker receives the support they need, and when they re-enter the care field, they will be carrying out care tasks adequately and to the highest standard possible.
Spot checking helps maintain and improve the care being delivered by our health and social care agency. We care about service users, we only want to help improve their quality of life, but however, we also care about our care support workers, which is why we personally review them in this way. Spot checks help care support workers, in most cases our carers do a great job, however sometimes we do spot where carers need training.
Further training only helps our carers deliver care in the field, it makes their roles easier, there is nothing worse than going into an appointment feeling un-equipped and un-prepared, we train all of our care support workers, when they walk into a service users home they can be confident knowing they are equipped and ready to deliver high quality care.
ProCare Nursing are an award-winning agency and have been established in the care field for over 20 years. We have serviced every kind of care need you can think of, and have always ensured that carers are fully trained and the service user is at the heart of everything we do.
