Boris Johnson states that his government will fix the social care crisis in the UK
In Boris Johnson’s first speech as Prime Minister today he has stated that his government will work towards ending the the social care crisis in the UK. Boris Johnson also stated that every older person deserve’s the right to dignity and security and should not have to fear selling their home to fund care costs in later life.
Boris Johnson also stated that there will be 20 new hospital upgrades and ensure that any increased funding will get to front line NHS services.
This all sound’s promising so far but we will have to wait and see what the future holds, over the last three weeks we have been talking about Brexit and the negative affect it is having on the health and social care sector.
The UK is due to leave the EU on the 31st of October 2019, thats 99 days to secure a deal with the EU, so you can bet your life for the next 99 days the political atmosphere once again is going to be dominated by Brexit, this again means home affairs are likely to take a back seat once again.
