Boris Johnson is the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom but will home affairs come back into focus after October 31st
Today it has been decided that Boris Johnson is now the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom beating Jeremy Hunt to pole position. Here are the voting results.
We can only hope that Brexit can be delivered on the 31st of October 2019 so that the political agenda can move from Brexit to home affairs here at home.
We have already debated the negative affects Brexit is having on the health and social care sector here in the UK, we have been writing about Mental Health deterioration in the country to the green paper delays on how to fix the health and social care crisis.
It is feared that if Brexit drags on and on the more home affairs are going to be neglected such as the health and social care sector. We have also been writing about how elderly abuse statistics are soaring with 1 million elderly people being victims of abuse every year in the UK.
Not only is domestic abuse on the rise amongst the elderly but Mental Health is getting worse in the country. We recently looked at research carried out by the University of Manchester, this research highlighted how people with Mental Health conditions go on to develop physical health conditions such as obesity and heart disease.
We also published a statistic from a BBC article that in three years Mental Health referrals for children aged 11 and under has risen by nearly 50%. There is simply a lot of research being performed by universities and media companies like the BBC to say that our health services are in crisis, but are these crisis’s making it to the house of commons for debate to help solve these problems research is unveiling.
