Autism Services in Wales to receive funding after 2021
It was recently announced by the Welsh Government that they are going to continue funding autism services in Wales. Vaughan Gething announced that autism services will receive an extra £3m a year after the Integrated Autism Service pilot comes to an end in 2021.
Not only is funding going to continue, the Welsh Government is going to carry out a review for autism and neurodevelopmental services, this review will keep Welsh Government ministers up to date with factors such as are these services sustainable over the long term in Wales.
Michael Vaughan pictured below said,
“The integrated autism service is raising awareness of autism across Wales, improving access to assessment and diagnosis and putting in place additional specialist support in every region.
The money I am announcing today will ensure that our commitment to improving autism services is fulfilled in the long term. Alongside this I am commissioning a review to ensure that services are meeting people’s needs and the money is being invested where it’s needed.”
ProCare Nursing work with those who have Mental Health conditions
ProCare Nursing have over 20 years’ experience caring for those who have autism. We are an award-winning health and social care agency who have fully trained care support workers delivering care to those who have autism and Mental Health conditions.
We tailor care packages to service user’s needs, if you require very specific needs then we will ensure those care needs are delivered. Let’s look at an example for somebody with autism. People with autism like to live life by positive routines, such as the way they like their breakfast cooked and the way they wash their hands after eating, these activities need to be carried out in a positive routine, if something happens to the routine then service user’s who have autism can become unsettled and their behaviour can deteriorate.
Our care packages ensure that all the very specific needs and routines are cared for. We discuss the service user’s needs with family members and adapt the care packages so that their needs are met. This is what we mean by tailored care packages, we go to great lengths to ensure people who have autism lead healthy and dignified lives.
We train all our care support workers in-house
We have our own in-house training facility training all of our carers how to help service users with their care needs. Working with people with autism and Mental Health conditions can be challenging, however we give our carers every opportunity to be effective when carrying out care work for those with autism. Here is a photo of a recent training course teaching carers how to deliver quality care to those with autism and Mental Health conditions.
Here are a range of photos showing carers restraining techniques.
In certain situations, it may be necessary to restrain service users, at ProCare Nursing we believe that in the unfortunate event of having to restrain a service user, that they are restrained with the utmost respect and dignity, and in a way that reduces stress rather than increases stress.
